Over the Moon

Rocks in My Dryer is hosting a Spur of the Moment Dish Carnival and I just HAVE to participate since I just completed 12 place settings of my new Pfaltzgraff pattern. We didn't register for china when we got married because we are cheap and refused to ask guests to spend $80 on a gravy boat when we could get something similar at Walmart for $8.

When we moved in together, we purchased everyday dishes from Big Lots and have had them for a good 5 years.  I've been begging Il Marito for at least a year to please let me purchase the new dishes that I wanted, but he loves those Big Lots dishes and fought me every step of the way.  I thought I would have to break each dish one by one before I could buy my new set.

That was until we were shopping over Thanksgiving and found a 20 piece set in my pattern, Villa della Luna, at 1/2 off the regular price at a Decorator's Warehouse.  I HAD to have them at that price, so Il Fratello della Moglie bought them for me for Christmas. Hah! Il Marito couldn't say no now!

Once I had one setting for 4, I really wanted to have at least 8 more.  So, I spread the word to Madre Paterna and La Sorella del Marito, who share my love for everything tableware, and I received a gift card for Pfatzgraff for Christmas! Yay!

Luckily, we have a Pfatzgraff outlet store near where we live and I was able to finish up my place settings and purchase a napkin holder, a butter dish, a gravy boat (isn't that the cutest thing you have ever seen?) and a large serving bowl.  And that, my friends, is only the beginning, I won't stop until I have this, and this, and maybe even this.

(P.S. Are there really people who will buy ANYTHING because it matches??!?!?)

Those are gorgeous. I would love to eat off of those everyday.
